Jay Vado

Jay Vado is a Toronto singer and songwriter making R&B with soul and pop running through it. Born to a Venezuelan father who worked as a DJ and a Lebanese mother who sang in a choir, he grew up between two musical cultures, singing by the age of five and writing his own songs by thirteen. Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Nirvana and Tupac all shaped the way he hears a record. His credits put him alongside The LOX, featuring with Jadakiss, Styles P and Sheek Louch on Peter Jackson's "Can't Get Enough", and in the studio with Ace Hood, with coverage on HipHopWired, HipHop-N-More and DJBooth. The video for "Breathe and Shake" passed 100,000 views, and he has performed at Sound Academy in Toronto and The Mansion in Ottawa. His single "Got Me Like", produced by Lynx, premiered on Hot 89.9 in Ottawa, and "Dim The Light" followed. Both lead into his EP, Better Late Than Never.
